Faces of Poland

As a photojournalist, street photography appeals to me for its spontaneity and authenticity. While recently traveling to Poland, I sought to capture the faces of the people I encountered. My own relatives immigrated from Eastern Europe to America around the turn of the 20th century. They set down firm roots in the United States with no desire to go back to β€œthe old country.” I longed to travel to Poland to discover my roots. I wanted to look into the eyes of the Poles with the hope seeing of my grandmother as a young girl in her native land or even a reflection of my own self. I met farmers, musicians, store clerks, children and bus drivers. They were lived in Warsaw in the northern part of Poland to Krakow in the southern part of the country. I appreciated their graciousness and kindness and for permitting me to take their photo.
